Judd Trump is trying to win more silverware in China over the next few days to follow on from his success at the Shanghai Masters earlier this summer.

The Bristolian has been a world champion during his career and he remains one of the most decorated players in snooker.

Trump perhaps hasn’t won as many triple crown events as he might have liked but he’s certainly one of the game’s entertainers.

After winning his match against Ma Hailong 5-0 yesterday he now faces a match against Lyo Haotian at the Xi’an Open.

Kyren Wilson claimed his first world title this year and after his latest win in China, Trump has discussed the new world champion and the challenges he faces.

Judd Trump delivers verdict on Kyren Wilson

Wilson has seen his World Snooker Championship ridiculed a little bit with Ali Carter bemoaning his easy run.

However, nobody can take the win away from him and he now has to live up to the tag of world champion for 12 months.

Trump has offered some advice to Wilson as the season gets into full swing and he’s shared what he thinks the Kettering potter needs to do quickly.

He told the WST YouTube channel: It’s tough, we saw it with Luca. I think Kyren has got the right attitude and he’s someone who has put the work in but he can’t let off because everyone is coming for him now. I think he won’t want to go too long without winning another title of some sort because your confidence can take a knock.”

Wilson will be a brilliant world champion

The player thoroughly deserves his crown as the champion of the world and he’s a great ambassador for snooker and an inspiration for youngsters playing the game.

Wilson has worked tirelessly to maintain his place in the top 16 since getting onto the tour and nobody can say he doesn’t deserve his success.

Trump is right though. The hard work starts now and every player has seen a big target develop on the head of Wilson with every play keen to get one over the best player in the world.

Wilson has bags of time left on his side during his career and it’s hard to see him not adding to his collection of world crowns in the future.
