Kyren Wilson has shared what he noticed about Jak Jones before the recent World Snooker Championship final.
The Warrior claimed his first major title with an 18-14 victory over Jones and emotions were high following the winning frame.
Wilson had been in a World Championship final before but was blown away by Ronnie O’Sullivan in 2020.
This year he’s used all of this experience to finally get his hands on one of the big ones and he’s explained something he noticed about his opponent before the final.

The Kettering native thoroughly deserved to win the crown at The Crucible this year and was the most consistent player.
He defeated Jones in the final after beating Dominic Dale, Joe O’Connor, John Higgins and Dave Gilbert.
Wilson has now shared what experience he used from losing to O’Sullivan in 2020 and explained what he noticed about Jones before the final.
The new world champion told the Snooker Club podcast on the World Snooker Tour website: “I knew from when I played Ronnie in 2020 in that first session I was knackered.
“Before the final this time I got a good nine hours sleep and he’s walked in with a Lucozade before the first session. I looked at that and just thought, ‘Okay, he’s telling me he’s tired’.”
Scheduling should be better at World Snooker Championship
This is something that often provides a talking point when it comes to the biggest tournament of the season.
Making a player finish a gruelling best-of-33 match on a Saturday night and then starting a final on Sunday afternoon feels a little bit harsh.
One of the players will always be fresher, with one semi-final finishing in the afternoon and perhaps a full day between the semis and the final starting would be ideal.
That isn’t the fault of Wilson, however, and he took advantage in the first session, leading 7-1 after a red-hot opening salvo.
Lots of talk has been doing the rounds about the venue of the World Championship and perhaps there is now a discussion to be had over the scheduling too.
Still, there is no denying that Wilson was the better of the two players during this year’s final.
