Ronnie O’Sullivan made it through to the semi-finals of the Xi’an Grand Prix after a narrow victory over Matthew Selt.
The match went to a final frame decider and Ronnie O’Sullivan managed to secure his place in the last four of the Chinese event with a 5-4 victory.
After the match, O’Sullivan spoke about his mentality and compared it to other players on the tour.

Ronnie O’Sullivan ‘wouldn’t play’ if he wasn’t winning
Speaking to WST’s YouTube channel, O’Sullivan claimed that some players on the tour are content with losing.
He said: “If I wasn’t winning if I wasn’t competing or doing what I was doing in snooker then I probably wouldn’t play it.
“I’m very competitive so it depends on each person some people are just happy to say I’m a professional snooker player. They come, they never win tournaments but they’re happy.
“Some people like me win seven World titles and I’m never happy so it depends on the person it depends on their character.”
O’Sullivan will face Kyren Wilson in the semi-finals of the inaugural Xi’an Grand Prix.
Ronnie is on the hunt for record eighth World Championship
O’Sullivan heads into the 2024-25 season looking to make history by claiming his eighth World Championship crowd.
If he were to win the Sheffield event next year he would go above fellow seven-time winner Stephen Hendry.
It would be a fitting moment for arguably the greatest snooker player of all time to have a record that reflects his dominance in the sport.
