With seven World Championships under his belt, Stephen Hendry is one of the icons of snooker.
Since retiring, initially in 2012 and then again this year, the Scot has made a name for himself as a no nonsense pundit who isn’t afraid to speak his mind.
Whether on commentary duty, or on his podcast, the 55-year-old tells it like it is and he isn’t afraid to ruffle feathers with his thoughts on the game.

Stephen Hendry criticises Luca Brecel
2023 World Champion Luca Brecel is the latest player to come under fire from the former world number one.
Speaking on his podcast, Snooker Club with Stephen Hendry and Mark Watson, Hendry questioned the Belgian’s form since this season and his activity on social media.
Hendry said: “Yeah I think we gave him a pass for the first part of last season. Being the World Champion, the extra pressure, but that’s gone now.
“I honestly don’t know what he’s doing with his career. I’ve not got a clue. I see him a lot on Instagram riding his bike, going for dinner.
“He seems to be having a lovely time, but what is he doing with his career? That’s what I would ask him.”
Luca Brecel’s form is worrying
After winning the 2023 World Snooker Championship, Luca Brecel became a household name in the game.
He was the first player from continental Europe to win snooker’s biggest prize after toppling Mark Selby in the final at The Crucible.
Since that crowning achievement, Brecel has been on a disappointing run of form reaching just one ranking-tournament quarter-final.
Hendry, meanwhile, retired for the second time in June after declining a two-year invitational tour card, and it’s fair to say he isn’t too impressed by Brecel’s recent showings.
Fingers crossed the former World Champion can get back to his best at some point.
